When Jen and I started writing Power Up, we knew we wanted to craft a reading guide for group discussions... you know, like the ones in the back of popular book club books, but for educators? (We just can't shake being English teachers.) Well, Stenhouse has published a fabulous PD guide with chapter summaries, questions for discussion, quotes to ponder, and hands-on activities for work groups to try out. The comprehensive guide is available for free as a PDF download on their website. We are so hopeful that this guide will be useful for faculty groups as they make (or continue) the transition to teaching with 1:1 technology.
But wait, there's more! Our FULL BOOK is available for preview online. We won't have print copies until June 25th, so if you want to virtually thumb through the pages and see if Power Up might be right for you, your department, school, or district, go check it out! http://www.stenhouse.com/html/power-up.htm
Finally, we are also "live" on Amazon. Some early reviews are in from folks like Brian Lewis (CEO of ISTE) and Laurie Barron (National Middle School Principal of the Year, 2013). Here's a sneak peak of what Brian has to say: "In this accessible, hands-on book Diana Neebe and Jen Roberts share a wealth of creative lesson ideas, how-to examples, useful tools and collaboration tips for educators ramping up their technology skills to improve teaching and enrich learning for all students. It’s a great go-to resource for classroom teachers and staff developers, and offers good insights for district leaders working to build future ready schools."
